I feel blessed to have been born in Salta … And especially today that we are celebrating the 200th anniversary of a historic event which meant the beginning of democracy in our province: when on request of the people of the town General “Don Martin Miguel de Güemes” was elected “governor of Salta” shortly after this event he became Argentina and America’s independence hero.
In Salta we honor his memory every day because Güemes lives in us, because from atop his monument we know that he is still with us: guarding the hearts of those who are responsible of Salta a better place for its people, reminding us Argentineans the true story and identity of our country, and passing on us, and the whole of America, all that sacred passion for the value of freedom…
Particularly today; in this province where he was born, he fought and died for the independence of their homeland, we participate in a number of activities in his honor…
But we will always celebrate his memory by working jointly being noble, honest and courageously for a great and united country that embrace us all!!!
